Cinemetrics is the amazing bachelor graduation project by Frederic Brodbeck.

The project is about measuring and visualizing movie data, in order to reveal the characteristics of films and to create a visual “fingerprint” for them. Information such as the editing structure, color, speech or motion are extracted, analyzed and transformed into graphic representations so that movies can be seen as a whole and easily interpreted or compared side by side.

This is quite the bachelor project!!

He’s selling posters here, and I really want the Top Gun one, but is it worth the dough?

I really hope this is an ad because if someone paid for all these it would cost at least a thousand dollars. I saw these at a small shop in Duluth and I kinda fell in love.

“The whole park is a sculpture”, is what artist / product designer / sculptor Isamu Noguchi said about Moerenuma Park in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Moerenuma Park opened last July, 18 years after Isamu visited Sapporo for the first time to design this 189-hectare park.

This is one of the coolest parks ever. It’s huge, and it’s all designed by him. The google satellite view looks like a painting—all these interesting lines, patterns, and spaces all in one giant recreational place that people can run around in. I just love it and would really like to see it. (lots more photos / via pingmag)
